# card_required

A paid plan needs a card on file.

## What it means

Choosing a paid plan needs a payment card on the account. Free promotional (the launch offer) never asks for one, and live keys on plain Free return [live_keys_need_plan](/docs/errors/live_keys_need_plan) instead.

## Why it happens

- The account has no card yet and you chose a paid plan.
- The card was removed from the billing page.

## What to do

1. Add a card on the billing page, then choose the plan again. While payments are off, email support@apexly.dev with the plan you want instead.
2. Keep building meanwhile; your current plan keeps working.
